Customer Questions
We offer three tiers of well water testing kits: basic, standard, and deluxe. Our Basic Well Test analyzes 36 bacteria types, minerals, and inorganic chemicals. The Basic option is best for getting a general understanding of the water quality. If your well is regularly compromised, the Standard or Deluxe Well Water Tests may be a better choice.
There are no regulations requiring well water testing, so it's on the well owner to ensure their water is safe to drink. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, periodic testing of your well water is necessary in order to check for contaminants including bacteria, nitrates, and other potential contaminants. If your well is close to natural hazards like a flood site or a waste disposal facility, it is more likely to be contaminated with harmful bacteria. If your well is at risk, it's important to test it frequently, and keep an eye out for water quality concerns.
Once we receive your sample, we estimate that it will take about 7 days to turn around your results. If you ordered a kit with more tests, it may take longer.
There are a range of issues that can occur with groundwater that negatively impact human health. Be aware of diseases such as hepatitis A which is caused by consuming contaminated water. Make sure your water is free from toxic chemicals like lead and arsenic, and high levels of nitrates which can cause pregnancy complications. If you have high levels of total coliform bacteria in your water, it could indicate the presence of other bacteria. Our report will measure the levels of each type of bacteria and help you determine treatment options.
The WaterCheck™ Advantage
We are a certified laboratory with many specific water tests and kits designed to test for harmful bacteria and chemical contaminants.
