Corrosion Check

Tests your Well or City Water for...

  • - Lead (First Draw and Flush)
  • - Copper (First Draw and Flush)
  • - Corrosivity (Langelier Saturation Index)
  • - Other contaminants that cause corrosion problems
  • - Full List of Contaminants PDF

This water testing package analyzes the water for various contaminants and physical characteristics of the water which can affect corrosion. If you are experiencing blue/green staining in the sinks and/or bathtubs or if pinholes are forming in your copper pipes, this can be a sign of corrosion. This test will look for copper and lead in a first draw and flush sample; as well as checks for other corrosion related contaminants.

Customer Questions

ANSWER

The type of analysis you choose should be based upon your specific concerns, your water source and what contaminates may potentially be in the water. If you are on a city water supply, you may want to test for the by-products of disinfection and heavy metals as they are likely to be in the water. If you are on a private well it is important to test for bacteria as that is a common contaminant, as well as naturally occurring contaminants such as arsenic, radon, barium, iron and manganese.

ANSWER

Water quality can vary greatly based upon natural fluctuations in the water source and the types of treatment techniques utilized by the water department. If you are on a private well, there are no regulations which require regular testing of the water, so you are responsible for ensuring the water is safe to drink. The EPA recommends minimally testing your water at least once a year for bacteria and nitrates.

ANSWER

This will also depend on the type of analysis you choose, as some tests can be performed more quickly than others. We have several Quick Series packages in which results are available within 2-3 days of receipt at the laboratory. For our more comprehensive testing packages like the Well Check Deluxe it does take about 10-12 business days.

What Others Are Saying

The WaterCheck™ Advantage

watercheck logo

We are a certified laboratory with many specific water tests and kits designed to test for harmful bacteria and chemical contaminants. Private wells require closer attention because they are not regulated by your local health department or treatment facility. The WaterCheck™ product line includes three tiers of well water testing kits. Based on the analysis, we will provide you with a detailed report of how safe the water is. We are here to ensure your water is free from contamination and can be safely consumed.
